Matt Smith took over from David Tennant, a fury from the press and fans when first announced as who is he, and complaints about being too young.
Shortly after his first episode aired on 3rd April 2010, a huge positive response came from his debut as the Doctor, no one at the launch party in London had nothing negative to say and Smith describes as making his Doctor his own character, not taking anything from his predecessors' as it used to be in the old show, but he was offered the role from Steven Moffat as he claimed he had some elderly features about him too, which despite his young age made the actor special for the role.
Links to reactions from the newspapers below on his debut, but over time during, we hope a long tenure as the Doctor, will follow.
Even voters over at Gallifrey Base voted Excellent as 80 percent on their poll, from over 26 thousand members, on our own message board, which is continuing to grow, 11 people gave his debut an excellent and 6 good out of 17 votes, so a promising start. Here's Matt to a wonderful future for you.
