Battlefield VI was again held at the Hotel Leofric . This had been my second Battlefield Event as previously I had attended Battlefield IV. A superb weekend from start to finish - the only disappointment was the absence of Tom Baker and Lalla Ward who had to pull out of work due to work commitments.
Apart from that they had two excellent replacements; Sylvester McCoy and Yee Jee Tso (Chang Lee from TV Movie), both very open and polite. Poor Sylvester was in a wheelchair and was having difficulty getting around. The panels were interesting and so were Peter Purves and Colin Baker.
The autograph system was a bit of a let down as it was on a first come first served basis rather than the number system, which seems to work better. The caberat was excellent especially with Nick Courtney and Terry Molloy competing against each other - making model Daleks out of household items!!! e.g. plastic cups. The auction was interesting, lots of rare and EXPENSIVE merchandise!!, e.g. five scripts for £165.00!!!
Steve Cambden's talks were interesting; particuarly the footage of Shada and the bloopers of Underworld. The K9 Christmas special was very funny.
Overall an enjoyable weekend, lots of activity to keep us amused and busy - hope it will be back next year in a bigger venue so we can all get a room!! Thanks to Mark O'Grady and the rest of the team for all the hardwork put in |
