Jaconda, ruled by the Time Lord Azmael, was once a lush green world with lush meadows and wooded countryside, and was well known for its friendly natives. When the sixth Doctor and Peri, along with Hugo Lang, visited the planet they found a very different world: one in which there was little or no vegetation, and the trees were dead, covered in a thick mucus. The whole planet seemed to have a stench of rotting vegetables. The Doctor found that the world had been taken over, and destroyed, by giant gastropods. A deadly plan was in operation to move two of Jaconda's moons out of orbit and into the sun to cause a giant explosion. Azmael ended his life with Mestor trapped in his mind, whilst the Doctor destroyed the Gastropod body. RELATED LINKS |
