Inhabitants of the planet Lakertya, they were reptilian but with plumes of leonine mane and golden skin. Although intelligent and peaceful, they were also very lazy.

This made them easy targets for the Rani who needed a world from which to launch Loyhargil-carrying rockets at an asteroid of Strange Matter.

The Lakertyans were stopped from rebelling by a vast globe of lethal insects which hung in their centre of leisure. When the Rani had been defeated, the Lakertyans, under the rule of Ikona, finally decided to take positive control of their own destiny
