Metebelis

Famous blue planet from the Metebelis System in the Acteon Galaxy, where an intergalactic colony ship from Earth crash-landed. The humans set up home at the foot of the hills while some spiders were blown by the winds into the mountains. Radiation from the blue crystals therein increased the spiders both physically and mentally until they became known as the Eight-Legs.

The Doctor stole a Blue Crystal from them which belonged to their leader, the Great One. Eventually he was forced to return it.

The Great One and the Eight-Legs were destroyed when the feedback from the blue crystals caused their mountain to explode.
