Review

If you ask anyone who attended this years Regenerations Convention to describe it in one word that word would be relaxed.

In fact it is the word to describe all the Regenerations conventions.

So what can I say about Regenerations 2007 other than; yes I still get told I look like Jimmy Connors (Not Jimmy Connor as in my Regenerations 2006 review.  But then I am a Doctor Who fan not a tennis enthusiast.).  Some people think I look like Terrence Dicks.

Yes Colin Baker is still a very pleasant and generous bloke.

Yes Anneke Wills is still a warm and pleasant human being.

I must take a moment out to talk to you about Terry Molloy.  He has attended many events.  Children who also attend these events will often present him with a picture of Michael Wisher as Davros. Now of course children have a simple logic.

Terry Molloy plays Davros thus all Davros pictures are for signing by Terry Molloy. I have no doubt that in years to come these children will be biting their knuckles realising their mistake.  Terry Molloy understands this but it must touch a small nerve occasionally and it is to his credit that he never points out this error even in a kind way to these children.

This attitude has earned my respect and must never be abused by us older children (adults). Back to Regenerations 2007: What new stuff can I tell you?  Oh yes, the Daleks are great fun.  Full of enthusiasm and well told funny stories about working on the new series.  When I say Daleks I am referring to Nick Briggs, Nicholas Pegg, and Barnaby Edwards.

They are fans that grew up watching the show and now they are helping to make it.  They are having the time of their lives and it shows. Make an effort to find out about Charlie Ross.  He is a comedian, Big Finish actor, fellow Doctor Who fan, and generally a very pleasant person.

If you are thinking of putting on a Doctor Who convention do could do worse than booking Charlie Ross. Cary Woodward and his group are taking a well-deserved break and so we will have to wait to 2009 for the next Regenerations convention. If you have the means but are nervous about attending your first your first Doctor Who convention then book Regenerations 2009 as soon as it becomes possible to do so.  Once you are there your fears will dissolve and you will have a great and relaxed time.

Thank you Carry Woodward and Co. and return to us soon.  There is a gaping hole where September 2008 was going to be.

Pictures thanks to Sean Clarke
