Sara was a top space agent in the year 4000AD, Sara is sent by the corrupted Mavic Chen, Guardian of the Solar System, asked to kill the Doctor and Steven, who have discovered the Daleks' plan to destroy the Earth (The Daleks' Masterplan)
The Doctor finally convinces her that she has been deceived by her masters, and she joins him in the struggle against the Daleks, although she dies in the process.
