Susan was the first companion we saw, she was with the first Doctor in the TARDIS as it first landed on Earth. Although Susan called the Doctor no one know who exactly her parents were, but what is known is that she came from the same planet as the Doctor, whom we believed was her Grandfather. Her intellect, memory and psychic powers were not of this world. But she also displayed a rebellious streak typical of human teenagers. She had many journeys with the Doctor before they landed on Earth and many implied others. Her final adventure was in The Dalek Invasion of Earth when she left after falling in love with freedom fighter David Campbell.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the programme, Susan returned in The Five Doctors and also appeared in Dimensions in Time.

Carole Ann still goes to the events to meet fans and recently starred in Doctor Who Unbound 1 for Big Finish and has returned for the Storm of Angels which was released in January 2005.
